A practice with ancient roots

Flower essences aren't a new idea. Healers have worked with the subtle qualities of flowers for thousands of years, across cultures, long before modern wellness had a word for it.

Just as people have distinct personalities, each flower has its own character. A flower is a plant at the peak of its life cycle, the most complete expression of that plant's nature. To capture it, freshly picked blossoms steep in water under the morning sun. That gentle process transfers the flower's imprint into the water, which is then preserved with brandy and raw honey from the glō bee hives.

Essences work on the emotional body rather than the physical one, in a way very similar to homeopathy. They have no scent, and they're not to be confused with essential oils or aromatherapy. Think of them as a remedy, taken in drops under the tongue or in a drink.

One clear, steady tone

Think of your emotional state as a room filled with noise and static. A flower essence doesn't shout over the noise. It introduces one clear, steady tone, and as that tone holds, the static settles. That settling is the essence at work.

The effects build gradually rather than arrive all at once, though many feel a shift right away. Give it a few weeks of consistent use, stay open to noticing, and let the flowers do what they do.

A one-minute ritual

Take 4 drops under the tongue, or in the beverage of your choice, 3 times daily. As you take your drops, pause and set an intention with a mantra. Each essence comes with a few to try, or make one of your own according to what you need to hear in that moment.

I gave the Unstuck to my daughter who was stuck in a low grade depressed state. She had a story that was holding her back from enjoying life and making changes to improve her situation. She didn’t even know that I was giving her a flower essence. I simply dropped a few drops into her water and tea a few times a day. A mere 9 days later, she woke up and cleaned her room (this is NOT like her) and pronounced that she was going to drop job applications around town” My husband looked at me wide eyed and smiled.

First of all, the scent is wonderful! It has an immediate calming effect. My mind tends to jump from one thought to the next, so being fully present doesn't always come naturally to me. When I first used the flower essence, I noticed I felt calmer and more centered pretty quickly. My thoughts weren't racing as much, and I found it easier to slow down and simply enjoy the moment. It was a subtle but meaningful shift, and one I really appreciated. I'm so grateful for Megan and all the knowledge and care she puts into what she does. What a gift to be able to share that with others!

About a couple weeks into taking the Calm Mind remedy my husband said to me, and I quote, “You seem calmer.” Need I say more? These flower essences are actual magic and such an easy and holistic way to nurture the body on every level. While taking this particular essence, I did indeed feel a calmness in my mind and body. It has felt easier to just let things be and to go with the flow, something my type A soul has always needed assistance with! Cannot recommend these remedies and the maker behind them enough.

Your Essences Questions, Answered

Are flower essences the same as essential oils?

No. Essences have no scent and aren't aromatherapy. They work on the emotional body rather than the physical one, and they're taken as drops or applied to the skin for transdermal effects rather than applied for aromatherapeutic effects.

What's actually in the bottle?

Water infused with freshly picked blossoms, preserved with brandy and raw honey from the glō bee hives. Every flower is harvested from our organic glō garden or the Bridger mountain range.

How long until I notice something?

The effects build gradually rather than arrive all at once, though many feel a shift right away. Most people notice a change after several weeks of consistent use.

Is it safe during pregnancy? Can I give it to my child?

Yes. Every flower used in these formulas is safe for pregnancy, babies, and pets. Essences have no active pharmacological ingredient, so they're considered very low-risk alongside anything else in your routine. Drops can be taken orally, or rubbed into the skin... the bottom of a little one's foot works beautifully. As always, if you have specific health concerns, it's worth a quick conversation with your care provider.

Should I take more than one essence at a time?

Start with one. Give it a few weeks so you can feel what it's doing... otherwise you may feel wonderful and have no idea which essence to thank! Once you know your essences, many people keep two in rotation through the day.

I heard some glō products now include essences. Will mine be different?

You won't notice any change in scent, texture, or performance in the products you already love. Our hydrosols carry essences too, and misting is a gentler, slower way to take them in. Your products work exactly as they always have, even if you never give the essences a second thought.
